Di, is a local artist who has been living on the Sunshine Coast for the past 20 years and has a love for animals. She has focused her art on this area because she feels a strong connection to animals. This year, she had to say goodbye to one of our beloved Shepherds. She engaged with us here at Little treasures pet cremation and was moved by their passion and empathy, leading her to decide to collaborate. Di now offers unique and lovingly drawn portraits of pets to remember them. If you are interested in a portrait, please contact Tara of Little Treasures Pet Cremation.
Little treasures pet cremation are also working with local artists who can create hand-blown molten glass jewellery and art pieces that incorporates the ashes of your loved ones. Each piece is unique and handcrafted, combining the ashes of your pet with your chosen colours to create a stunning piece of jewellery.

Why Do Pets Of Similar Weights Produce Different Amounts Of Ashes?
- Bone Density:
Lower bone density can result in less ashes being created. Lower bone density is often seen in older pets, or in cases of illness such as cancer.
- Bone Structure: Different breeds will produce varying amounts of ashes, even if they are similar weights.
- Cremation Temperature, Time and Processing: Longer cremation times and higher temperatures will often result in finer ashes being produced, which gives the impression of less ashes being produced (as they become more compact as they settle). Longer cremation times also remove more impurities during the process, resulting in less ashes being produced.
- Items cremated with your pet: Paper and some other natural materials can resist complete combustion (particularly items heavy in carbon), which will then contribute to the volume of the ashes being produced.
